Master Locksmiths Association

Trust A Trader was created to help people to find local traders that they can rely on, free from the risks of engaging rogue traders. Many trade areas are heavily regulated, and all of the traders listed in our directory have been vetted by us and rated and approved by former customers. However, for added security and to ensure that our traders always offer the highest standards and adhere to best practice, we encourage them to gain membership, affiliation and qualifications from relevant professional bodies, such as the Master Locksmiths Association.

The Master Locksmiths Association was formed to address the lack of government led regulation in the locksmithing industry. In 2009, the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) fought for law changes with regard to the vetting of locksmiths and, after being taken to parliament, the MLA was added to the exceptions order for the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. As a result of this action, the MLA is able to gain CRB checks on members; they also vet and inspect approved members to ensure that they continue to meet the Association’s requirements. In an area where people are, quite literally, responsible for the security of homes and businesses, the Master Locksmiths Association (MLA) provides valuable service. There are two main MLA membership types: MLA approved company membership for locksmith companies that meet the Association’s strict criteria, and MLA affiliate memberships for organisations that manufacture and supply other members of the locksmith industry.

If you are looking for a trustworthy locksmith near you, make sure you find a locksmith on Trust A Trader who is a member or affiliate of the Master Locksmiths Association.
